SENTIMENTAL ROSE BIRTHDAY CARD – APRIL PAPER PUMPKIN ALTERNATIVE
This weekend I received my May Paper Pumpkin kit called Hugs from Shelly. It’s a beautiful kit, which I will showcase more in a later post. Today, I want to share an April Paper Pumpkin Alternative.
I’m still enamored with the April Paper Pumpkin, Sentimental Rose. The stamp set consists of ten stamps. Eight of them are sentiments, and two are images–leaves and a rose. That rose is a show stopper as you can probably see from the photo above.
One of my favorite things to do with stamps is to make my own Designer Series Paper. Even though the April Paper Pumpkin kit has only two images, you can see they work well for this technique.
For cardstock you’ll need:
- an A2 size Whisper White cardbase
- Whisper White 2-7/8″ x 4-1/8″
- Flirty Flamingo 3-3/4″ x 5″
- Basic Black 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and 3″ x 4-1/4″
Using the Flirty Flamingo ink, I stamped the rose, turned the stamp slightly and stamped again without re-inking. I did this three times. Then I used the Black ink to stamp the leaves and the sentiment. Next, I layered the stamped piece onto the smaller Basic Black mat and the Flirty Flamingo layer on the larger Basic Black mat.
Then I adhered those layers. Finally, I adhered them to the cardbase.
