The Detailed Floral dies are so beautiful and so versatile. They are on the retiring list, and I thought they deserved a little love. I chose to use them as the focal point on my card, spotlighting them with the layering circle dies. I originally saw this sketch on Pinterest. The Pinterest card used some of Stampin’ Up!’s laser cut Designer Series Paper, but I wanted to use dies instead. I immediately thought of the Detailed Floral dies.
I also have a sample using the Window Box dies. Later this month, I will post a 3-D project I made using this beautiful set. Unfortunately, it too is on the retiring list. So, if you’re interested in either of these die sets, please get yours now. If you missed the retiring list, please see my previous post.
Detailed Floral and Window Box Card Details
For the card above, I used the smallest of the two Detailed Floral dies and the layering circles. I used Mint Macaron cardstock and ink and Whisper White thick cardstock for the base. The thicker cardstock held up better. I popped up the die cut floral piece on dimensionals (on all of the cards). The thicker cardstock helped keep it from buckling.
For the card above, I used all of the same products, except I used Calypso Coral ink and cardstock. The sentiment for all of the greetings comes from the Painted Glass stamp set. This stamp set carried over to the new catalog.
For this last card, I used Mint Macaron ink and cardstock, and I used the Window Box dies to create the focal image. Also, for these last two cards, I opted for a knot instead of a bow.
To finish all of the cards, I die cut the sentiment using the Layering Ovals dies. Then I added a ribbon and tied a bow.
I think these would make beautiful sympathy or even wedding cards. Because you have the dies, you could make a matching box. Who wouldn’t love to receive that?
