Finding Inspiration – Home Decor.
A few people have asked me where I find inspiration. I decided to share my answer with you. From the title of the post, you know the quick answer, or rather, one of the quick answers. The longer answer is that inspiration is everywhere. Pinterest is a great resource, but so are your local stores and the world around you.
While shopping for groceries, I found a cute sign perfect for Fall. As I drove home, I kept thinking about that piece. Already, I was seeing it as a card. I love how the pumpkins aren’t traditional pumpkins. Because they were made from rectangle shaped wood blocks, I knew this concept would translate to a card.
- Blossoms in Bloom
- Basic White
- Crumb Cake
- Early Espresso
- Pattern Party DSP
- Soft Suede
- Paper Trimmer
- Cut and Emboss Machine
- Playful Alphabet dies
- Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch
- Heat Tool
- White Emboss Powder
- Linen Thread
- Metallic Pearls
- Timber 3D Embossing Folder
I intentionally left the bow tails long, because I wanted to draw attention to the “stems.” This way, the recipient would see that they are pumpkins and not just rectangles.
I die cut the letters from the Pattern Party DSP using the Playful Alphabet dies. Nothing says Fall like plaid. Am I right? For the sentiment, I white heat embossed the word “happy” from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.
