This Free as a Bird Friend Card is so easy to make. I used a new stamp set (Free as a Bird) from Stampin’ Up!, and it has been a very popular set among the demonstrators. It will be available for everyone to purchase on June 4.
I used two of the new In Color inks, Rococo Rose and Pretty Peacock, for my stamping. I also used some of the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper and some other new products, which I’ll mention in the instructions.
Free as a Bird Friend Card Instructions
Using full stick Post It Notes, stamp and create masks for the two single flowers in the stamp set. (The card in the photo below is upside down, because I used my Stamparatus to make these cards, as I was making multiples. I found it easier to work with the card upside down.)
Then stamp the largest flower about 1-1/4″ from the side of the card base (Whisper White thick cardstock cut to 5-1/8″ x 8-1/2″and scored at 4-1/4″) using Rococo Rose ink. Mask that flower, then stamp the smaller flowers around the masked flower.
With all of the flowers still masked, stamp the leaves from the Free as a Bird stamp set and the leaves from the Delightful Day stamp set. Then you can remove the masks.
Next, stamp three more of the larger flowers in Rococo Rose on a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock. Then stamp Friend (from Daisy Lane stamp set) with Pretty Peacock ink on that same scrap of cardstock.
Then fussy cut the flowers and die cut the word Friend, using the Stitched Nested Labels.
Now, cut a piece of the Perennial Essence DSP to 1-3/4″ x 3-3/4″.
Cut a piece of the Scalloped Linen Ribbon in Rococo Rose to 3-3/4″.
Using a tape runner, adhere the ribbon to the DSP panel.
Adhere the DSP panel to the card base, using dimensionals. I placed my panel about 3/4″ from the left side of the card base. This way, the panel slightly overlapped some of the stamping.
Adhere the fussy cut flowers to the DSP panel, and adhere the sentiment to the DSP panel using a tape runner or liquid glue.
In the first photo, you’ll see that I also used sentiments from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, and I used the Timeless Label punch.
The new catalog launches on June 4 at noon MDT. The store will close from midnight to noon on June 4, so Stampin’ Up! can make the transition to the new catalog.
Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day.
