Has your mojo taken a vacation? Sometimes you need to make something, but your mojo won’t cooperate. What’s a crafter to do? I have some tips and ideas that will help you be creative until your mojo returns.
This is one of my favorite things to make. In the photo above, you’ll see several backgrounds. I made some with an embossing folder. Some I stamped, making my own Designer Series Paper. For others, I used some shimmer paint in a mini mister.
There are so many ways to make your own backgrounds. You’re really only limited by your imagination.
Making embellishments is another fun way to start the creative juices flowing again. As you can see I love making flowers. For the daisy, I stamped the large and medium daisies from the Daisy Lane stamp set. Then I punched them using the Daisy and Medium Daisy punches. Next, I layered them, making sure to offset the petals.
For the rose, I used the new Hot Air Balloon punch to make all of the petals. Once I had the flower glued together, I sprayed it with shimmer mist. Then I added the leaves.
Punches make it so easy to create beautiful embellishments. Simply choose your colors of cardstock, punch, and adhere.
Work on Small Projects
From the photo, you can see I have been busy working on tags and bookmarks. For some reason, I’m obsessed with them right now. I can’t seem to make enough of them. Using the Scalloped Tag Topper and Delightful Tag Topper punches will give your tags and bookmarks a beautiful finish.
For the Christmas tags, I used an embossing folder to give the backgrounds a little interest. Plain green and plain red weren’t enough for me. I think the embossing dresses them up nicely.
Like with the backgrounds, you are really only limited by your imagination.
There you have it. Three easy and fun ways to get your mojo and creative juices flowing again.
