Postcard Pals Card
The Postcard Pals stamp set is retiring. Say it isn’t so.
Stampin’ Up! doesn’t make many critter stamp sets. They also don’t make many stamps that beg to be colored they way these do. That’s why this is the perfect stamp set. For me, anyway.
To make this card, I used only Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the pelican (from Postcard Pals) and the sentiment (from Southern Serenade stamp set) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. For the vertical lines (from Swirly Frames stamp set) between them, I used Granite Gray ink. For the faux postage stamp and cancellation marks (both from Warm Hearted stamp set), I used the Memento ink again, but I stamped off and used second generation. I wanted these images to be a little lighter.
Then I used the Stitched Rectangle dies (second largest and third largest) to create the frame. I colored the pelican with the Watercolor Pencils. Then I adhered everything flat to a 5-1/2″ by 4-1/4″ card base.
Retiring and Clearance Products
A quick side note here. All of the stamp sets I used here, except Swirly Frames, are retiring. So if you want them, make sure you order them before May 24th. That’s the last day Stampin’ Up! will continue to produce stamp sets. After that date, the stamp sets will only be available while supplies last. All other retiring items, like ribbon, ink, cardstock, DSP are only available while supplies last. Several products have already sold out.
To purchase any of these items, you can shop my online store. Be sure to check out the Clearance Rack and the Last Chance Items. Don’t forget to use the May Hostess Code (Z7NJ6Y7M) to be entered into my monthly giveaway.
