Do you love Designer Series Paper? I do. It’s a fun and quick way to add color and pattern to a project.
After the freak bomb cyclone storm we had in March–which brought cold temperatures and snow–I’m all for color. And warmer temperatures.
Today, I have a pretty, yet functional 3D project. I originally saw this project on Connie Stewart’s blog. Her box was sized to fit scrap paper. However, I wanted something a little smaller. So, I adjusted the measurements to fit business cards.
Because I used chipboard, my finished box is sturdy. If I was going to give this to someone, I would cover up the gray chipboard. Because this is for me, I’m leaving it as is. Besides, my business cards will cover it.
For the base of the box, I used the reverse side of the Designer Series Paper. That way the box doesn’t blend with the base.
There are many ways you could decorate this box–die cut flowers or leaves, or even a stamped sentiment–but I opted for simplicity. Otis Redding said, “There is beauty in simplicity.” I couldn’t agree more. Today anyway.
To make this box, I used chipboard (cut from an empty cracker box), some of the Share What You Love DSP, and some Whisper White thick cardstock.
